"It was classic Trombone Shorty. She did her most favorite hits, although some of the song selections were not my favorite. Those songs where she is 'a cappella' with soaring, sustained notes are always spine-tingling. Some dialog flubs due to opening night jitters, but it's endearing that even at her stature as a singer, she still gets nervous. We chose seats in the Mezz which has blocked views of part of the show, and the sound amplification is not good here, but you still have pretty good proximity to the stage. Nowhere does it say that there is a "movies" theme to the show that would help tie everything together."

"Sounded good considering the terrible venue (sound wise and all other ways) the Silver Legacy was, Trombone Shorty. They basically took a few ballrooms and added seats. The chairs were on top of one another and there was no graduation from row to row, so seeing the stage was terrible."
"McBride sang many of her top songs, but didn't sing one of my personal favorites, 'In My Daughter's Eyes.' She let the show get out of hand when a concert goer screamed things out and she answered, then he came up to the stage and sang happy birthday to someone in his family. She allowed him to interrupt the show several times, and it went from being cute to ridiculous quickly. The other thing she did that irked me was that she sang several songs that were originally recorded by other artists. That was a big disappointment. She has way too good a voice and way too much of her own material to be singing songs that others are famous for!"

The evening started with great disappointment. However, Trombone Shorty was not only entertaining, but on point with his readings as well. I went with my friend who is a super fan of Trombone Shorty. He paid extra for the VIP meet and greet only to be turned away when we got there. He gave us his full attention for way over two hours. Needless to say, he felt deflated and I was furious for him. The VIP photo op time was changed from 2:00 pm to 11:00 am, and my friend never received any notifications about a time change. Trombone Shorty was great! Someone needs to make this right.
